Sometimes, there are releases that look so good you’ve got to pre-order them before you forget. And often life gets in the way of searching for that stuff all the time. Here’s a look at what’s coming up, and what you should start saving money for, along with helpful links so that you can purchase.
Scream Factory is releasing 1999’s Stigmata on Blu-Ray May 19, which you can pre-order for a cheap $15.89. I don’t know how many people are huge fans of the film, but if you don’t already own, this is a good deal.
Kino Lorber’s Classics line is bringing all sorts of great releases to Blu-Ray, and they’ve been working on a bunch of Edgar Allan Poe-related films. The Premature Burial is one of them, directed by Joe Dante and starring Ray Milland. This releases May 12 with pre-order price of $17.99!
Arrow Films continues their onslaught of great films for American audiences with this release of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Miss Osbourne, a rather gruesome and erotic take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic. This is getting a ton of special features, and is definitely worth the $27.99 price tag. Releases May 12.
Witchery has Linda Blair and David Hasselhoff, so you can’t go wrong there. Ghosthouse is an Umberto Lenzi flick about a scary doll. Together, they make a creepy combination released by Scream Factory in a double-feature set. This releases June 30 with pre-order price of $17.99.
Kino Lorber releases another classic horror film, the 1977 The Island of Dr. Moreau. Burt Lancaster stars as the titular doctor! Pre-order for $17.99, releasing June 23.
Scream has a lot of creature features coming your way, and this double-feature about ants and cobras should make you sufficiently scared to step out of your house. Pre-order for $17.97 before May 26.
Continuing Redemption’s trend of releasing great classic horror movies on Blu-Ray, The Sadistic Baron Von Klaus will be getting the treatment for June 9. You can pre-order it for $19.99!
Another Arrow Films release is Island of Death, getting Blu-Ray and DVD treatment with a new transfer and an interview with director Nico Mastorakis, as well as the booklets that come with each Arrow release. Comes out May 26 with $27.99 price.
Contamination is part of Arrow’s June line-up of films, a video nasty in the UK about a ship of glowing eggs that sits comfortably in the sci-fi horror genre. It also has a score from Goblin! Again, it comes with all of the great Arrow stuff, like booklets and reversible artwork.
Yep, it’s a heavy metal horror movie from Troma taking cues from all kinds of areas of rock. Get ready for bad metal, poor quality, and a lot of laughs.

Kino is releasing Mario Bava’s The Evil Eye with both the normal version and the alternative European cut known as The Girl Who Knew Too Much. Pick it up by May 19 for $19.99!
Also available is Jean Rollins’ The Escapees, about two women who wander the French countryside and meeting with various troupes of people. Available May 26 for $29.95 on Blu-Ray.
