Sometimes, there are releases that look so good you’ve got to pre-order them before you forget. And often life gets in the way of searching for that stuff all the time. Here’s a look at what’s coming up, and what you should start saving money for, along with helpful links so that you can purchase.
Releases May 5 – very soon. You’ll want to get your hands on this before Mad Max: Fury Road comes out, and right now it’s only $14.97!
This Society package is amazing – the artwork, the box, the comic exclusive, the ridiculous amount of special features – and it’s going to be another strong release you need on your shelf.
A classic sci-fi flick coming to you on Blu-Ray thanks to Kino Lorber. I can’t find any special features at this point, but it doesn’t release until June 16. Kino always releases quality, though. Right now at $19.99.
Jess Franco’s surreal, erotic horror film about a vampiress luring women to an island in the Mediterranean is coming to Blu-Ray thanks to Severin Films, with quite a few interviews with and special features. You also get that wonderful cover art! This releases on May 12 and is $24.99.
It only makes sense that Severin would release She Killed in Ecstasy right along with Vampyros Lesbos. It’s Jess Franco’s follow-up film, and you might as well pick up both at the same time! Comes out May 12 at $24.99.
Here’s another double-feature from Scream Factory, this time a creature feature. The Food of the Gods is a really good H.G. Wells story, but I’m not familiar with Frogs. Both of these, though, are sure to give you a fear of the outdoors just in time for summer. Releases May 26 with a price of $15.89.
You say you need more monster madness? How about Tentacles and Reptilicus, coming to you June 16 at $17.99?
Grindhouse Releasing has been doing excellent work with their latest releases (did you see the list of features on that The Beyond release!?), and expect nothing less from this special edition of Cannibal Ferox. This releases May 26 with a price of $35.96, but don’t let the cost daunt you – this will be worth it.
This is a double-disc release like Vinegar Syndrome usually does – one Blu-Ray, one DVD. Glad to see this slasher film getting a Blu-Ray release from a great company. Pre-order for May 26 release for a low low price of $14.99.
The last Sam Peckinpah film, on Blu-Ray! Not sure of the special features on this release, but for a mere $12.69, you can’t really go wrong. Releases May 19.
I’m a little scared to think what Roger Corman would do with x-ray vision, but here’s a sci-fi flick from him that’s getting a nice Blu-Ray release thanks to Olive Films. Releases May 12 for a cheap $17.99.
A long-lost slasher from 1984, brought back for special edition Blu-Ray thanks to Slasher // Video! Releases May 12, at $19.99.
Another schlocky sci-fi classic from Olive Films getting Blu-Ray treatment. Releasing May 19 at $19.99.
The long-awaited Collector’s Edition release of Dog Soldiers! This is a collection you’ll want to own, especially since the film itself is kickass. Releases June 23 at $26.94.
For the summer, you can enjoy a camp away from home, or you can enjoy Angela slaughtering some kids in both Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers June 9 at $19.99, and…
Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland, which is also coming at you with some ridiculously great special features. Releases June 9 at $26.94.
Releases June 23 at $17.99.
Releases April 28 (soon!) at $15.89.
MGM is releasing this on Blu-Ray thanks to the upcoming remake. Comes out May 19 for $14.99.
