A few months ago I announced that I was going to do something different this year for Halloween. Instead of doing the regular Halloween Fifteen with horror movie reviews (like always), this time I’m working towards a mega-Halloween celebration known as the Four Weeks of Shrieks.
This is an event that is open to bloggers and sometimes-writers, a collaboration of everyone who loves to write about horror. I will be doing my own work as well, but I want Four Weeks of Shrieks to encompass all of the blogosphere.
The Four Weeks will be comprised of:
I wanted each week to have a traditional Halloween theme, and so that’s where the very non-specific topics come in. Where you take it is up to you: do you want to cover the new generation of vampires in TV and movies? Do you want to cover witch revival? How about paranormal activity in the ’70s compared to today’s current slew? Or how about pairing the myth with reality, where the werewolf idea got its start?
These are just suggestions; you could cover Jean Rollins’ vampires, or The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. Whatever it is, just let me know which theme you’d like to cover so I can get a schedule of events going. This does not have a set due date, but I would definitely like it before October 1. A calendar of events will be posted as soon as I begin to receive interest.
Please let all of your horror blogger friends know, and get the shrieks flowing!
