On a side note before I get started, I’d just like to say that it’s always nice to sneak away from life for a little while – in my case, I went camping over the weekend, and although I had my phone with me, it died the second day leaving me stranded without Internet service. Hey, that wasn’t a bad thing and I realized how much time I actually spend on the computer, blogging and thinking about new things to post. But it also recharged me to write more! *** Apples to Apples has been out for a while, and it’s sort of one of the most/only popular board games right now – to be honest, people just don’t play games in person anymore – but it’s gotten a new counterpart that involves pairing phrases with pictures to create funny or creative partnerships. It’s called Big Picture Apples to Apples, and it plays much like the original, red delicious version except the pictures add a new focal point, if you will. There are tons of different images, some really obscure and some pretty general. But one thing that I noticed the other night when playing is that it has a bunch of picture tokens of the iconic Apple mascot dressed up in different attire. These tokens you get to pick out and keep when you’re deemed the winner of a round. Take a look at the horror or Halloween-related Apple costumes! There are a couple more themed ones, like a martian with a ray gun, a ninja, and a girl with a magic wand. I didn’t grab pictures of those because they weren’t as Halloween-esque for my taste, but these little figures are super cool. There are a number of pictures on the game cards, too, that are related to horror. Go out and pick the new game up for $20!
