Got a lot of little tidbits of news (“noose”) that I’ve been trying to get up in the past few days. Here’s what’s come down my pipe. Flesh Roxon, zombie horror band, release gruesome music video Zombies and rock music go together like… well, probably not PB & J, but they go together just fine. The Misfits did it, and the horror rock of bands like Wednesday 13 and Drag Queens from Planet 13 has its place. Flesh Roxon, a rock band recently signed to Live Nation Finland, have debuted their music video for “Lonely Rider.” It features a dude driving down a lonely road in a fuel-ravaged jalopy who encounters a bunch of Hills Have Eyes-style rejects, gets chained up, only to be saved by the murderous woman in the trunk of his car. It’s all tinged with a VHS quality that even includes some tracking lines. Check out the video above, and if you dig the music, head on over to the band’s Facebook page. Flesh Roxon’s album Flesh to the Bone is out now. After Dark Films CEO Courtney Solomon to direct Getaway, starring Ethan Hawke Getaway, a new thriller from Courtney Solomon of After Dark Films regard, is heading to theaters August 30 towards the end of the summer blockbuster rush. Ethan Hawke stars as Brent Magna, a man tasked with saving his wife from some kidnappers; he’ll literally stop at nothing to get her, since he’s driving a Shelby Cobra Mustang he stole from Selena Gomez. Getaway doesn’t allow Hawke to catch a break. He’s already run from crazed lunatics on a night where killing is legal, and now he’s got to track down some more wackos who kidnap his wife. The guy’s characters just aren’t having good luck. Here’s the trailer: Check out the award-winning horror short Hold Your Fire on Twitch Film Wes Benscoter’s anti-war horror short Hold Your Fire is now up on Twitch Film. Zombificador, horror anthology to be directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis, seeks funding Normally these crowd-funded films aren’t worth the time investing in blogging about them, but Zombificador is different. Already, Herschell Gordon Lewis is attached to direct with Bill Moseley and Michael Berryman set to star. Lewis, whose films include Two Thousand Maniacs and The Wizard of Gore, will direct the film’s five interconnected stories, written by Marc Fernandez. After Dark Originals 2 announces Sanatorium, the fifth film in the series The After Dark Originals is back again for a second year with another group of original films. The fifth in the series, Sanatorium, has just been announced. Directed by Brant Sersen and starring Kate Riley, Don Fanelli, and Megan Neuringer, the supernatural flick is about a paranormal television show that captures more than they bargained for in the haunted Hillcrest Sanatorium. Not a lot of info to go on, since that’s the basic plot of pretty much every paranormal flick coming out right now, but it sounds like fun. No word on release date, but you can check out the official After Dark Originals website for more info.
